I'm not sure I've ever looked forward to a year like I'm looking forward to 2012. On the personal note, I've just gotten engaged, so I'm planning a wedding, and we're expecting our first child (a girl) in June. That alone will make this a great year!
But you probably don't care about all of that. You're here for the videos, and you want to know what you can expect from MyPod over the next few months. Well, we have a lot planned:
New content. Clearly, we didn't do the best job of keeping the content up to date toward the end of 2011. But that's about to change. We currently have over 2,000 hours of new content just waiting to be added to the network, with more content being added to the queue all the time. Our goal is to have brand new videos to offer each day, to keep the site fresh and exciting.
New Pod designs. In one of our biggest overhauls to date, we're redeveloping our database and Pod layout, so you'll not only be able to access the content quicker, but the viewing experience will be more enjoyable.
More categories. As we grow our content, we also plan to grow our category and sub categories, to make the videos you want to watch easier for you to find.
More regular aesthetic changes. We've gotten some great reactions from viewers in response to our hostess videos on the Home page and category pages, and the new, seasons background designs. So we're planning more of it. Look for more regular changes to the look and feel of the site, as well as more frequent updates of Bridgette, the MyPod hostess.
Greater integration with Facebook and Twitter, for registration and commenting capabilities.
Mobile friendly. One of our first priorities going into the new year is to make MyPod more easily accessible on smart phone and tablets. We're shooting to get this ready by the end of March.
New gaming site. No, I'm not just talking about more videos offering tips and reviews from gamers. I'm talking about a whole new network. Get ready for MyPod Gaming - a massive new site featuring free online games. Sports, puzzle, adventure - you name it, and you'll be able to find it here. Look for the launch of our new gaming site sometime over the summer.
That's a pretty good list of things to look forward to in the coming months. But don't think it ends there - there's still plenty of time for us to think of more stuff to toss onto the pile!
